| | | In an attempt to make EVERYONE comfortable, many Model choices were developed for your GL1800.
Understanding the below should help in your Quest for Comfort. You may want to print this page for reference.
Model Designations (i.e. Model E.5D):
The first letter & number (E.5) identifies the 'Leg' used. The 'Leg' is the long flat bar between the mounting 'Block' and 'Peg' on which you place your foot.
'Offset' is how far the two bends move the 'Peg' out (.5 = 1/2 inch).
The second letter identifies the mounting 'Block' (D).
'LEGS' for Gold Wings:
D is 12 1/2" long with a 1 1/2" offset.
E is 12 1/2" long with a 1 1/2" offset and a 20 degree twist (for mounting Pegs outboard).
E.5 is 12 1/2" long with 1/2" offset and a 20 degree twist.
G is 9 1/2" long with a 1 1/2" offset and a 20 degree twist.
K is 9 1/2" long with two unequal bends.
Mounting 'BLOCKS' for Gold Wings:
A mounts on the horizontal engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 45 degrees.
B mounts on the horizontal engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 38 degrees.
D mounts on the horizontal engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 30 degrees.
L mounts on the horizontal engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 20 degrees.
F mounts to the vertical engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 45 degrees.
Q mounts to the vertical engine guard and allows the 'Leg' to drop about 30 degrees.
