Mounting R1200RT & other R1200's ('14-current)

Mick-O-Pegs, Model TG for your 2014-current BMW R1200__.

YOU ARE GETTING THE FIRST EDITION OF THE INSTRUCTIONS so we would appreciate your opinion.
‘Too short, too long, not enough details? How can we improve?

Model TG (T Leg and G Bracket) will mount under each cylinder and be attached to the two studs that
hold your exhaust pipes.
There is also a long, small Support Bolt w/lock a nut that screws into the bottom of the cylinder giving 2
primary and 1 support point for mounting.

Model TG has many new features.  The G Bracket consists of two pieces, shipped attached with two
small SAE Stainless Steel bolts.  It is intended to be strong enough to provide a comfortable place for your
feet while cruising, yet able to ‘bend or break away’ in the event your bike falls over and it is not equipped
with engine guards that support the weight of your bike.  Our goal is that ‘Mick-O-Pegs not cause any
additional damage’ if an accident happens.  If you have an accident and provide us with pictures and details
of what happened to the Mick-O-Pegs, we’ll replace damaged Mick-O-Pegs parts at no cost to the first few
unfortunate riders who have mishaps.

NOTE:  Most parts are not interchangeable (right and left).  Mounting your Mick-O-Pegs is similar for the
right and left sides.

1.  You should notice two sets of holes for joining the two Bracket pieces.  Since the cylinder on the right
is not as far forward as the left, the vertical part of the bracket is attached using the set of holes farther
forward on the right.  The vertical part of the bracket is attached using the set of holes farther back on the
left.  That allows the Pegs to end up being opposite each other, rather than staggered as your cylinders are).

2.  Remove the two OEM nuts which hold your exhaust pipe in place.  Remember how much force/torque/effort
it took to remove them.

3.  Mount two Coupler nuts (long nuts provided) in place of the two nuts you removed in step #2.  These need
not be very tight – a little less than the OEM nuts you just removed in Step #2.

4.  Using two Mounting Bolts, loosely mount the thinnest (1/8”) part of the Bracket onto the two Coupler nuts
installed in step #3.  The thicker part of the Bracket will be vertical.

5.  Before tightening the two Mounting Bolts, put the long small Support Bolt through the bracket.   Add the
lock nut to the Support Bolt and thread it all the way down.

6.  As you tighten the two Mounting Bolts into the Coupler Nuts, the bracket will seek a position on the bottom
of the Coupler Nuts.  Screw the Support Bolt into the tapped hole on the bottom of the engine cylinder – just
finger tight.  Then tighten the lock nut against the bottom of your cylinder.  The Support Bolt prevents the
Bracket from bending/twisting down from the two primary mounting positions, so all force is just pulling
down on the Support Bolt.
